Music is taught to all children as part of our curriculum where they have opportunities to explore, compose and perform to their peers using their voices and percussion instruments. Music is often linked to our termly topics as well as many other subjects including Dance, History and English.
There are many opportunities for children to get involved with music throughout the school year including our Harvest Festival, the Christmas plays, class assemblies and our Year 2 leavers’ assembly in July. Children in Year 2 also have the opportunity to sing at the Horley Music Festival in the summer term with other local schools.
At Meath Green Infant School, we also offer Year 1 and Year 2 a lunchtime choir club. The choir learn a variety of songs and perform throughout the year at special events including the Christmas Carol Service.
